Holiday Party
Cheers to being a second semester senior! My goodness, I didn't think I'd make it. With friends in college home with family, my mom thought it a nice idea to invite everyone over for a casual holiday get together.
Of course, my mom and I had yet to host a gathering of our own due to the limitations of our old apartment. In other words, we experienced the biggest rush of adrenaline and panic, hours before our guests' arrival.
My mom stayed up until 2am the night prior (or technically, the morning of) to prepare her dishes, and I had done the same in a successful attempt to submit the very last of my college apps (one of the best feelings to start the break).
The following day, my morning consisted of a cozy PJ breakfast with my close friends, driving to Target, finding an amazing parking spot only to come home without any purchases, a weak attempt to find parking in the overcrowded lots of Marshalls and Costco, driving through downtown to find the best hidden parking lot, walking a total of twenty blocks back and forth between shops, and rushing home to craft gifts for the night.
Let's just say I've never been so productive in such times of chaos and scarce parking.
With Trader Joe's air plants to greet me before I even entered the store, I immediately grabbed four, along with two poinsettias for my mom. Using ZIG Writer's gold metallic pen, I personalized each with my friend's names. From Papyrus, I purchased four large ornaments, painting each family name in Liquitex white acrylic color paint.
To my kung fu family, thank you for our "car ride to Ace Hardware to get fire wood," the entertaining card war, and for being such wonderful, hilarious people.
