Ellie, My Locker Bud

To a dear friend, my locker bud:

Ellie, thank you for being such a sweet, supportive friend to me and everyone you encounter.

There's the saying that "you never truly know someone until you live with them," a phrase that often critiques individuals' undesirable, hidden habits.

I think the same goes for the fact that you never know someone unless you move into their school locker with them! You are organized, especially understanding when it comes to my pungent lunches, and patient when I need some extra space for my books, school club materials, and other miscellaneous things. Also, thank you for always making an effort to leave our locker open when you see me running towards you frantically in your peripheral vision (much appreciated).

I'm so glad you liked the little gift I bought for you, and I cannot wait for our summer adventures going hiking, watching sunsets, and trying various smoothies, acai-me and vitality bowls.

I am beyond excited to be your locker bud next year (oh my, we'll be seniors...)!

6/3/17 UPDATE!

Just two days ago, I received a ext from Ellie saying, "Hey can I drop something off at your house tonight?" Long behold, I never hear her car arrive at my house, but I heard it leave my driveway at around 11 at night, and the next morning I was happy to find, not a notebook that I left in our locker, not a folder, but a little blue bag.

In that bag, I was surprised to find the sweetest card and a little yellow watch! I love it in every way from the color to the fact that I can use it every second of every day (get it? because it's a watch?). Again, you couldn't have been more thoughtful, Ellie.
